2007 SA Superbike Champ

Bridgeland sponsored Road Racer Dan Mutton has been on the road circuit for almost 2 years. 2007 saw Dan take out the South Australian Superbike Championship and the Yamaha Pitmans Highest Point scorer.

Dan began the 2008 season on the CBR1000RR competing in the C-Grade Formula Extreme class (1000cc Superstock B,C & D grade) of the Australian Supers Championship.

The first round at Eastern Creek saw Dan finish first in the C-Grade but due to a lack of experience at the Eastern Creek track and a pretty big highside due to cold tyres in one of the held-up races he was disappointed to have not finished with better lap times.

The second round at Mallala saw Dan put too much pressure on himself being his home track. Taken out by a fellow South Aussie on turn one in the warm-up lap of his second race left him with a DNF. After huge pit repairs he finished the third race in 5th position overall.

After discussions with his sponsors comparing the huge costs of competing in this class in 2008 versus the return for investment with regard to prize money and opportunity for advancement, Dan has made the choice to run lean in the 2008 season. With focus on fitness training, local rounds and track practice this year, his plan is to embark on the 2009 season in the Australian Supersport Class, which will see him back on the Honda CBR600RR. He is currently training with local Speedway and has just purchased a CRF450X for the dirt.

Bridgeland wish Dan well and anticipate a bigger and better year in 2009 and thank his other sponsors Belray, Shark, Ixon, Burgess Paint & Panel and Shingleback Wines.

MotoCross - Luke Nixon

Luke has been riding under the Bridgeland banner for a few years now and has gone from strength to strength.

2008 season saw Luke swing from Yamaha and move onto the Honda CRF250R.  This season has been good to Luke with no injuries and plenty of good results in the SA Titles. Although the first meetings of the season were run under extreme temperatures, Lukes fitness has prevailed.  His consistent training on his home track and encouragement from his family have been of great benefit to Lukes sport.  Results will be posted soon. Luke has just run 2nd overall in the 30 minute Matt Budarick Memorial Race.

Off Road Rider - Nathan Newell

Season 2007 was a fresh start for myself....i had, six months off from racing and was fresh for another season. i bought a yamaha yz 125 as i have proven myself on a 125 before and knew i could be competative. it has payed big dividends.
Round1/2 of the Autralian off road titles in Port Maquarie NSW finished 2nd in class expert E1.
Round 3/4 australian off roads. was a medioca result as arriving late to race and a very long drive took its toll and finished 12th on day one and 13th on day two.
Rounds 5/6 Australian offroads wonthaggi victoria....was a very good event with motocross, enduro and extreme enduro sections, i struggeld a bit with armpump on day one and made a big era on a log section costing me alot of time. fininshed 11th in class on day one. and day two was great! rained all night and was very muddy. was riding really well but catching up to slower riders. one in particular that fell of infront of me in extreme sections with no where to go just thinking of how much time i was loosing waiting for him!...that said i managed 7th in class still with what otherwise could have been a top three result.
After these rounds i currently sit in 5th position in class 5 points behind 4th and 11 points behind 3rd.

A4DE (Autralian four day enduro) in Warrugaul victoria...selected for Senior South Australian Team....finished 4th in up to 200cc two stroke class and was SA highest point scorer. Senior team also finished 3rd in teams class.

SA offroads round one - meningie - finished 10th outright and second in class.

Round 2 of the SA Off road series has been run at Callington on June 29th.
I was confident going into the callington race as i train alot in this terraign.... i wasnt putting too much presure on myself but at the same time was eger to get a good result. the track was great and was happy to see that they had included the creeks that are on offer to make the tests abit more techinical. at the beginning of the day on the first two tests i had a couplle of stupid crashes and somehow out of nowhere got stuck on a tree root on a hill...which cost me a bit of time. the rest of the day went reasonably smoothly but found that the 125 didnt have the legs needed to really pull through the deep sand near the end of the day as the track became bogy and rough. a 250f would have been the ideal bike to have ridden in this event but did what i could. deffinatly one of the best oreganised and run state enduro event i have competed in.

I think i should be around 7th in the series now so hopefully with the new bike etc... i can climb the state ladder as the year progresses.
